Missing images from my blog

Today I’m sharing some information about deleting images from Picasa, and finding missing photo’s…along with some photos from one of my good friends lovely country garden.  These photo’s were taken last May…it’s rather winterish here at the moment!  Can you believe it’s March, and our weather predictions this evening are… freezing rain along with 5-7 inches of snow? This winter will certainly will be a memorable one!

(This was the view driving to my friends farm)

I was surprised, this week, when I clicked on my blog, and all I saw were round circles with minus signs instead of images, so I started doing a little research, and what I discovered was….that this has not only happened to me, but to many others as well.

LavenderandLinen.blogspot.com

After contacting Google+, I  did receive an email… listing several suggestions for me to try, and what they thought could have possibly happened, however, nothing has worked that they suggested. I did, however, delete several folders from Picasa, mostly those that were never published, and only one that was a web album, however,  I’m still missing photos from my blog.  I can see that they’re still in Picasa, and Light Room, just not on my blog. I tried publishing them again from Windows Live Writer, but to no avail. The only way I’ve been able to add them back is to upload them again in Windows Live Writer, and republish.  This doesn’t make sense to me…but it’s been working.  I don’t know when, and how I’m going to find the time to add the others back.

Potting Shed @LavenderandLinen.blogspot.com

(Her son built this lovely potting shed.  Isn’t it the greatest!)

Google+ says, if you delete photos, you can hit restore from your trash bin,  before 60 day’s, after that they’re gone! However, Picasa is a different story, If you delete photos from your Blogger album in Picasa Web Albums, the photo will also be deleted from your blog.  Likewise, you delete a photo from Blogger it will be deleted from Picasa Web Albums.

Hosta Garden/with yard Art

(Her husband raises horses on their farm so she has all kinds of horse art in her gardens.)

Wouldn’t it be nice if Picasa had some kind of warning other than, are you sure you want to delete this folder, before you actually hit DELETE?

You can also find out more about this subject by visiting The Flirty Guide BlogSpot.  It’s an older article, but it’s still the same.

(We sat under the gazebo, listening to the softly falling rain hitting on the metal roof, overlooking the beautiful garden rooms, sipping on fresh, cold, green tea.)

LavenderandLinen.blogspot.com

(I’m in love this chippy old bench!  It makes the perfect place to sit and relax while enjoying the garden, the price was right too... Free!)

LavenderandLinen.blogspot.com

For those of you that have experienced this problem with your blog, I would love to hear from you.

My thoughts were to delete this blog, but since I’ve been able to add photos back, I decided I’d try again.

LavenderandLinen.blogspot.com

(I’m sure this winter weather hasn’t been easy for the horse and cattle farmers, as well as, the animals.)

LavenderandLinen.blogspot.com

I’m also delighted to let you know, if you would like to see more of this garden, it will

be featured in April’s issue of the Kentucky Gardner’s magazine.

Fresco Dinning

Hello Everyone,

We had family from North Carolina staying with us over the weekend, and together we hosted our annual family reunion at a local club house.  It was so much fun!  We have such a great family! Everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves, and even though it was a lot of hard work… it was totally worth it.

The weather has been very nice here... we decided outdoor dinning would be perfect.

Since we have had so much rain, crepe myrtle leaves and blooms were everywhere!  They were all over the bar, tables and chairs…..

My husband and I strung the patio lights (that I have had for a couple of years) which made a nice soft light for evening dinning.

.  It's  funny…. the things you capture after you photograph something.  I see a big green walnut in my succulents.  Those sneaky little squirrels!

This rainy season has also produced huge misquotes, and when they bite you…let me just say…you will know it for days!  Thanks to a Pinterest tip, we have kept them at bay.

You want to know the secret?    CHEAP DRYER SHEETS!  They work wonders!   If you are having trouble with misquotes…give them a try.

We had such a nice time…lots of laughter, good food. we loved telling stories and reminiscing about our younger days…

I’ll admit…after everyone left,  I was ready for a very long nap!

How about you?  Do you enjoy Fresco dinning?

Thank you so much for visiting!   I appreciate each and every one of you!

Take care and I will see you soon!

~ Outdoor Garden Room~

Welcome to my outdoor room!

I usually treat this space like indoors, because it’s used as

an extended room to our home, the only problem is…

I’d rather work out here than than on the inside!

courtyard 028

I  also use this area as a summer craft room, as well as, entertaining.  The 100 + year old bricks were recycled from an old Distillery that was torn down several years ago.

(I will eventually get around to posting how we created this space…and show step by step construction.)

This week I completed one project that was on my to do list and that was… to make

drop cloth curtains for the barbecue shed.

courtyard 034

These were so easy!  No sewing…just clipped to the rod and they also help hide

some of the gardening tools.

Just as I was just putting away my tools the rain started pouring down,  literally,  by the bucketful's!

I was so happy and THANKFUL!

I grabbed my camera and ducked under the barbecue shed…

I couldn’t believe how relaxing it was,

sitting under there, listening to the rain

thinking…if only I had a nice bottle of chilled wine, maybe a few crackers and cheese,

it could have rained all day!.Smile

I love chalk board paint….I believe it will work on just about anything.

I made this chalk board today out of a piece of dried wood.

I’m thinking… this should be all one sentence.

Most gardens have statues, concrete rabbits or something stately….

Would you believe we decided on a whimsical rat fountain?

Since we live so close to the river, residents in this area have long

been called called river rats, we think

it adds that little bit of southern quirkiness to the garden.

Boxwoods define the garden’s formal pattern along with the backdrop of

lavender for fragrance.

Crepe Myrtle and boxwoods are planted on the opposite ends of the courtyard to create a flow.

I read somewhere that gardens are like kids, they evolve over time and I

think that’s so true.

You don’t necessarily need a lot of space to make an outdoor room, just enough to

establish some privacy,  provide comfortable seating, and grow

some gorgeous plants.

If you have Crepe Myrtles or if they may be in your future gardening plans, here’s a great

article on how to keep them properly trimmed.

Thanks for joining me in my outdoor room today…

Take care and have a wonderful weekend!

See you soon!

~Garden Art~

While walking in my neighborhood this morning I spotted this rusty old bike leaning up against a tree,

Early morning in South FKT 056

I thought it looked right at home.

I know that rust isn’t for everyone but how about a rusty dragon fly…

or a  little iron….

or possibly a garden statue.  Do you have any yard art?

As we continued walking along we came upon this lovely

house with no yard art,

with no rust,

just lovely boxwoods.

I thought how simple, and classic this home looks without all of the rust, yard art, soooo

just maybe I should go home and……..

PACK!  I’ll discuss this situation with my sister in law, later on, over a glass of wine or a cup of tea in a little café in Paris or Italy.    That’s right! We’re leaving soon!  It seems like time has flown since we first planned this trip.

Our first stop will be Venice, then Rome, from Rome to the South of France and then on to Paris.  I will be journaling and taking lots of pictures to share with you, but until then my friends please take care and I will see you sometime in July!

~Thanks and good by~

Merci et bonne!

~Blue Hydrangea Hideaway~

If you like French Hydrangea’s there’s a great article in this month’s issue of Southern Living.  It explains  how to grow them, prune them and start new ones.

We are at the Lake Cottage this weekend and we have three beautiful Hydrangea bushes.   They seem to be very common in this area.  I haven’t seen very many pink ones,  just the blue.

After reading this article…my vision is to have them lining our property line somewhat like in the magazine.

The picture above is from Southern Living.  I never thought about pairing them with Hosta’s.

This is one of our Hydrangea’s.   We cut it back last fall…maybe a little too much because the blooms aren’t quiet as large this year.

I started this plant from a branch that I cut off from the older one.  I wasn’t sure what would happen but…. viola!

They’re also nice for cutting arrangements and great for drying.

The weather has been sunny and beautiful here…the lake is gorgeous this time of year!

Thanks to our veterans we can grow hydrangea’s….. admire the lake and do all the things we often take for granted.

I’m so grateful to each and everyone of our service men and vets!

THANK YOU for stopping by and I hope you have a beautiful Memorial Day!

See ya soon!

Please join me at Blue Monday for many more lovely blues.
