~Sewing/Craft Room~

Hi everyone!   Are you getting ready for Thanksgiving?  It’s a busy time of the
year, isn’t it?   I spent the whole afternoon just putting away Halloween stuff.   I
keep telling myself, next year,  I am going to pare waaaay down on my Halloween
decor. (Why doesn’t self listen?)
Even though it has been a busy week I did manage to get a few more things
accomplished in my catch all sewing/craft room.

At least my thread is a little more organized and somewhat color coordinated.

This is a little sign I picked up at Good Will.  I sanded, painted and sanded
again…..too much work for such a small sign. :o)

My sister-in- law and I are planning a visit to southern France next year and
since I cannot speak or understand a word of French I thought maybe I could at
least smile and say, “bonjour.” :o)

I found this old, old ladder in our basement.  I thought about white washing it
but I somewhat like the paint splatters.

I also like to use canisters or recycled jars for extra storage.  I learned the hard
way…..if your thread is dusty,  your machine will not work. :-(
studios
While I was thinking about organizing my sewing/craft art room, I picked up a
couple of Studio magazines at Jo Ann’s.   They really do have some neat ideas
and inspiration for your art or craft space.

Thank you so much for stopping by  and I hope you have a wonderful Organized week!

~I think I can~

My sewing room is a shared/dressing room and like most old houses storage is always an issue.  This room doesn’t have a closet which makes it even more difficult to keep things organized.    So while the husband’s away fishing….I’m painting, spackling, organizing and getting my sewing room ready for Kentucky’s long cold winter.
I was not loving this picture anymore so I pulled out the chalkboard paint.  I thought  I would hang it over my desk where I could practice writing French words and maybe learn some French! Laughing?  Me too!

On one of my many trips to Lowes this week, I stopped by Goodwill.   I found these cute little candle votives for two dollars and with a little black spray they will work fine on my desk.

The wall color is, Almond Paste by Olympic from Lowes.  It really makes the room feel light, airy and clean.

This picture frame came from Hobby Lobby at 50% off.  It holds all my new scissors that my sweet sister-in-law sent to me today.  When she found out I was painting and cleaning my sewing room she sent me all kinds of, “good stuff'.”  Thank you Alise!  I LOVE them!

They were all Gingher!  Wow!  She said she found some place that was offering a great deal on all of their Gingher products.  I am truly convinced that North Carolina has it all!   They have the mountains, the beach,
good DEALS and  my sweet sister-in-law!

I would like for you to meet my new best friend,  Mr. Wall fix.

Yep.  The bust needs to do something besides sit on the the table.  He can style my hat, scarf's and jewelry.:0)

Bathroom Revamp

This week has been very, very busy.  I’ve been trying to get a few of my summer projects finished and this was one of them.   Let's see....only 50 more to go!:-)

Anyway our small bathroom has been in a great need of an update so finally, I decided this week was the week to “gitter done.” I really do not know why paint color is such a big ordeal to me, but it takes me forever to make up my mind and then I’m always second guessing.  Are you like that too or do you know immediately what you want?

I googled small, vintage, black and white bathrooms and I finally decided I really liked the look of this one. It's a classic, vintage style bathroom.

What was I thinking?   When I saw the black claw foot bath tub I must have thought if I painted my bathroom this color it would just magically appear

My bathroom is not only small but it's narrow.  You can hardly put a ladder up sideways.  If I gain another pound I definitely will not be able to paint it again.:-)

Here is a few before pic's.

The ceiling and crown molding are painted the same color.  Our ceilings are ten ft.  I'm not very fond of painting anyway, especially the ceilings. :-(

Where's the dreamy, black, clawfoot tub?

Thank you friends for stopping by!  If you like this classic look and want to see more you can go here
Please go by Susans, at Between Naps on the Porch, for many more beautiful before and afters.
