Fresh summer tomatoes and mozzarella have never
tasted better than in a classic Caprese salad.
-
fresh mozzarella cheese
-
heirloom tomatoes
-
fresh basil
-
sun ripened tomato sea salt
-
oregano white balsamic vinegar
-
cilantro and roasted onion EVOO
I’m so excited because these are our first organic tomatoes!
Many thanks to our sweet neighbor who kept them watered!
Anyway, while
we were there last week….we picked the vines CLEAN!
Perfect for a cool, refreshing summer salad.
A friend recommended these to me, they are called
Aussie heirloom tomatoes.
Green, red. orange…I haven’t seen a tomato I didn’t like!
Here’s where the magic starts, Cilantro & Roasted Onion EVOO
along with…..
Oregano White Balsamic and
sun ripened tomato sea salt!
When you pair these together you will have …..
an empty PLATE!
Do you have an Olive Oil Company in your city?
They will also let you sample as many oils, vinegars and sea salts as you like….along
with their wonderful bread.
Be careful….. if you’re anything like me, this could be harmful to your pocketbook!

Hugs,
Good Morning Mary, your food looks delicious, perfect for a warm sunny day. May I ask what is EVOO, I have never come across it before. Best Wishes Daphne
These dishes look so delicious, Mary. There's nothing quite like home grown tomatoes, and together with mozerella cheese, you have a yummy meal. I will have to show Jess and Nel these dishes. They love to experiment in the kitchen.

Mary,
If you're into cooking with tomatoes lately, I just remembered Jess did a post about a dish called Insalata Caprese. If you want to check it out, it is the post in July, 2011. It sounds similar to the one you have on here. Have a nice weekend.
