We had such a good time at the Lake Cottage this week! It was hot! The temperatures were in the high 90’s, but I still like summer much better than winter. At least we’re getting summer showers, along with the heat, which always makes it more comfortable. I must say, while we were in Rome last month, the weather was perfect.
I thought I would share a few pictures with you from our trip to Rome and Florence. We stayed at the beautiful, 4 Star, 1865 Hotel Quirinale. The location was perfect, especially if you like to shop, and of course we liked to shop! There were cafe's on every street, and we were within walking distance of Trevor fountain, the Spanish Steps and Coliseum.
We had breakfast in the garden each morning, while listening to the birds singing and the sound of trickling water from the fountain.
Check out this beautiful clock!
Our second day we toured the coliseum. It literally was like stepping back into history!
Entrance into the arena was a vow to death! “Hail, Caesar, those about to die salute you”!
It held 50,000 spectators.
Down the Spanish steps to the PRADA store!
Fresh roasted chestnuts!
St. Paul’s Basilica was amazing!
We stopped at Michelangelo's Panoramic View on our way to Florence. The view’s were breathtaking!
Artists and souvenirs were everywhere.
This is a replica of David, but we actually saw the real statue of David. It was remarkable to actually see Michelangelo’s masterpiece.
This beautiful old church is one of the oldest in Florence.
We loved Italy! The people, the food were all delightful and I’m so glad we had a chance to visit!
I hope you enjoyed this quick tour of Rome and Florence.
Thank you for stopping by, stay cool and have a great weekend! Our next stop…. Auty, France.
Hugs!
