Nina and Pinta

I did a double take today as we were riding around in our golf cart.   Columbus ships found their way to Grand Rivers!   The original Nina, the most historically accurate replica of a Columbus Ship ever built, and recently built Pinta were docked at Green Turtle Bay.

Both Nina and Pinta will be touring together as new and enhanced “sailing museum”,  for the purpose of educating the public and school children on the “caravel”, a Portuguese ship used by Columbus and many early explorers to discover the world.

Green Turtle Bay Grand Rivers, KY

Grand Rivers is a beautiful little village.  It has approximately 350 full time residents.

Kentucky Lake offers a great learning environment.  There are miles and miles of bays on the lakes.  You can sail 60 miles and have a different place to anchor every time.

Beautiful lake front homes

Light house Landing
Quilters from all over the world come to enter their quilts.

Grand Rivers doesn't have any stop lights but..... you just might just get a ticket if you
don't stop for the village cats!
