Hello everyone! My Kentucky Gardener Magazine arrived last week and our little garden was featured in the November, December issue!
The article was written by a local designer, Andrea Wilson Mueller from Inside Out Design. If you live in this area and are considering a designer, Andrea and her husband are one talented and creative team! Even though she didn’t design this garden…..she has done work for some of my friends, as well as, local businesses in and around the Lexington area and surrounding counties.
Although this garden isn’t one of the most beautiful garden’s in this area, I think it’s something unexpected, due to it’s size, location, and…. that it has been constructed and decorated with mostly salvaged materials. In addition, It has also won the Garden Club’s beautification award, as well as, our neighborhood association beautification award.
On a sad note, I’ve been watching Hurricane Sandy on the news all morning, its hard to believe all of the devastation from this storm. I couldn’t help but feel a little guilty writing this post today, especially, when there are so many other important issues going on in the world. I’m still waiting to hear from a good friend and family who lives in NJ. Our thoughts and prayers go out to each and everyone.
I’m also giving away a copy of this magazine to one of my readers. All you have to do is to leave a comment or email me, you don’t have to become a follower and etc.…..just a comment or email.
Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope you have a beautiful week!
Happy Friday!

Good Evening Mary, I love gardening books and magazines. Just when I think I have seen everything there could possibly be concerning a garden, a designer comes up with a new idea, but then it's like tending a garden, they are forever evolving. We have a magazine in England called Gardeners' World which is really interesting and full of hints and tips which I enjoy reading. Maybe we could swop magazines.
On a more thoughtful note, I would like to send my love and prayers go to everyone who has suffered in this dreadful hurricane. Take care, Daphne
Mary,
That is great news about your little garden being featured in this magazine. I would love to be able to read about it. I'm so happy for you. I was noticing your desk area and chair. I love it! I have a small desk also, but have been looking for the perfect chair for it.

Mary,
I just took a peak at your desk again. I love dark furniture. You don't see it that often any more. It seems everyone has white or washed furniture, and I still LOVE the traditional dark wood.
