~Enjoying the last days of fall~

Hello everyone!

I hope you’ve had a great weekend!

My daughter and I have been busy this week winterizing everything before

the big freeze.  It’s getting colder and colder each night and we were afraid the

fountain would freeze and break, so we finally got around to taking it apart and putting it away for the winter.

In it’s place my daughter arranged some pumpkins, gourds

and burlap for a fall display.  The dried one, that looks like a snake, came from a fall bazaar last year.

I would love to try my luck at drying the two larger ones.

Does anyone have any special tips on drying gourds?

All the leaves have fallen from the trees in our neighborhood except for……

this Gingko tree.  It’s one of the showiest trees on our street.

Did you know they can live to be a thousand years old, mainly, because they are

resilient to diseases?   I think I need to take some gingko… for sure!Smile

Their leaves also have such an interesting fan shape, along with the different shades of soft yellows.

While driving and listening to the radio this week, a listener called in and said,

“did you ever notice how beautiful nature is, right before it dies?”

Hmm….I never thought of it before.

When I heard the temperatures were going to drop below freezing,

I picked every single flower I could find.

Are you looking forward to winter?

Every day look a a beautiful picture, read a beautiful poem, listen to some

beautiful music, and if possible, say some reasonable thing.

Have a good week!

The gorgeous yellows in your photos have considerably brightened this gray and wet November day. This is my first visit to your blog, but it will not be my last. You have created a great spot for your readers to visit and I really enjoyed the time I spent here. I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Blessings...Mary

I've never seen a ginko tree before; it's beautiful! Your photos are lovely.

I'm not a fan of winter; seems the older I get, the less tolerant I am of the cold :(

I'm looking forward to winter, just not driving in lots of snow and ice. Thanks for stopping by and for your kind comment on my calf photo. Your fall photos are very pretty. I especially love the colours and the contrast of the smooth pumpkin and rough burlap.
