An Optimist stays up until midnight to see the new year in. A pessimist stays up to make sure the old year leaves.”

Happy New Year Friends!
We are at the lake cottage this week and I have been taking full advantage of this peaceful little place by getting caught up on a good book, sleeping late and basically just being lazy. It’s also been a good time to reflect back on my life from the previous year.
We have been so fortunate to have been able to spend time with our family and friends as well as to celebrate some special moments together in 2010.
My wish for the New Year will definitely include more of the above.
Do you have big plans for New Year?
Since we were too late to make reservations at the Yacht Club, we are
having a quiet, simple dinner here at the cottage.
Simple winter decor.
Of course simple candle light looks good on everybody. :-)
How about an appetizer?
Are you having black eyed pea’s for good luck?
I thought these looked wonderful! You can go here and get the recipe.
To those of you who stop by my blog I would like to thank you for your comments and encouragement. You will never know how much it means to me.
So here’s a toast to all of you …...let’s celebrate life in 2011!
I am looking forward to another year of creativity and inspiration!
Take care and be safe this New Year’s eve!

Wow, I think this is one of prettiest blogs I've seen. I love the colors and the vintage feel if has with the B&W pictures in your banner! Thanks so much for coming by...I am now following you!

I never do anything exciting on the New Years holidays. I tried to watch the ball fall in New York, but fell asleep. Now that is exciting!
It's a peaceful dinner. Hope you have a even better year in 2011, with full of love :)
I just adore your blog!! It's fabulous!!

Love that green "wreath" in the pot. Is it a rosemary wreath?
