Hello all!
Did you ever buy fabric that you really loved but put it away in a closet and forgot about it? Of course you have! Not! Well, that’s exactly what I did. I had it stashed away and just found it today. Anyway my mother in law purchased these two sweet little chairs in 1970 at a auction. I’m sure they were old when she bought them so I’m guessing possibly 80 years old more or less.
They are so old that…….
The poor things were so stained and tired,
until I found the above.
Did you notice the little rollers on their front legs?
Even though I absolutely love all of the painted furniture out there in bloggy land, these little chairs aren’t going to have any major cosmetic lifts. I think they are going to stay natural and grow old gracefully. :o)

Thank the Good Lord you didn't paint those sweet little chairs!! I love what you did do to them, though. The fabric is just perfect and so is that nail head trim. :o)

I love your chair. I need to reupholster my Victorian pieces. They look tired and worn. I could never paint that natural wood, either. Stop by Applejack Lane if you have the chance

They just don't make furniture like they used to! You can tell that they are solid, and very well made, and you've updated them so beautifully with that fun fabric. Have I ever bought some fabric that I loved, and packed it away? Why, yes I have! Lots of it. In fact I just got rid of a bunch of it about a month ago, because it was out of control!

Hi Mary. Love the redo. I think those chairs are older than 1930 tho. We have a buffet in the same wood and lines as your chairs....and wheels...I think they are from the turn-of-the-century. In their day they were the first mass produced furniture that was mobile.

Oh I definitely would not paint them. The new cushion is fabulous, but somethings are better left as they are. Beautiful chair.
