Horse Mania – the public art project in Lexington KY, which incorporates 89 full-size horse and 50 foals decorated by local artists and Lexington school children. To see all of them please go to horse pages to see and read about all of the different artists.
Here are a few of my favorites.
Lewhore Carrol, Alice in Wonderland, Artist: Charlie Kratzer
Kratzer used sharpies to draw renderings of several Tenniel's scenes and characters. He was a self-taught painter who began his artistic endeavors at age 40.
If you get a chance to visit Lexington, they will be on the streets through October.
The horses will be auctioned at Keeneland to generate funds to support local charities and Lexington’s developing public art program.
I hope you will join me over at A Southern daydreamer for many more beautiful outdoor creations!
