Hello Everyone!
I’m sure you’ve heard about the tornado’s that
Indiana and Kentucky have had this past week.
As of today there have been 30 fatalities, still counting, with more than 300 hurt.
My heart sincerely goes out to these folks.
As Albert and I were walking this afternoon this little bird nest just
tumbled to the ground right in front of us.
When I see these little nests I think about how hard these little birds
must have to work to build their homes.
So I decided to consult with Mr. Google about nesting and etc. and I found out they are not
so bird-brained after all! Our feathered friends ‘learn’ to build better
nests, claims scientists.
Scientists have shown that birds use experiences to refine the
construction of their nests and make fewer mistakes
as the months go by. The builder of this little nest did a great job because
it weathered the storm.
Only 16 more days to the first day of SPRING!
Sunshine and flowers…..what better therapy for the soul.
How about you? Do you like spring?
After I wrote this post we woke up this morning to……….
This is our first snow this year!
We will take snow over tornado’s any DAY!
Thank you for stopping by Lavender & Linen,
I hope you have a wonderful week!
See you soon!
Pin It now!

Those are such pretty pictures!! I am soooo ready for spring!! I love the warm sunshine and flowers :)
I loved all your spring pictures, but when I saw the snow pictures it made my heart sing! I don't see any snow here where I live, and I just love to see pictures of it. I have a thing for birds too, and the story about the nests was interesting to me.

Goodness me what weather Mother Nature has dished out this winter.
Your spring vignettes using the bird's nest are lovely.
Beautiful pictures! It has been a really weird Winter here too...not much moisture in the air...and wind...so much wind! Not anything like you have had...just constant wind blowing at about 45 mph! Your snow looks wonderful!
Just wanted to come over and say Happy St. Patrick's Day to my sweet friend! Hope you have a wonderful day. It's raining here today.
