First I would like to thank Liz @ Brambleberry Cottage for featuring my old ladder from my sewing/art room makeover post. I was so excited when she emailed me! What a honor! If you haven’t seen her blog you really don’t know what you are missing. I am so envious of her beautiful creamy, white pottery and make sure you check out her valentine post with her rustic, romantic table setting, along with many more lovelies, but these are just a few of my favorites.
Ahhhh it is so nice to finally…. maybe….. get back into my old routine. My part time job really did turn into a full time job for the last two weeks. Isn’t that the way? Before the holidays? I am not complaining, because I realize there are so many people out there that would love to have this problem. I am truly blessed!
Here goes……just a little outdoor winter decor.
I picked up a few pine cones this week. I always put them in the oven for a few minutes (just to make sure there wasn’t any little critters hiding in them.) I know I read that somewhere.
I found this old egg basket in the basement, spray painted it white. I also painted the tips of the pinecones with white acrylic paint.
I thought this little bird’s on a wire pillow would be too springy but you know……there are birds in the winter too. Right?
When I first saw this little bird’s on a wire pillow over @ Suzanne’s Just Another Hang Up, I knew I had to make one. You must go see! She has a great tutorial. She not only makes beautiful pillows she also has a variety of other lovelies she makes and sells. How about red birds on one of these little pillows for Christmas?
Lucille is putting on a show!
They sure are tough little plants. This one stayed outside all summer without any special attention. I was reading in my gardening book to stop watering them during the month of October. See! I told they were easy!
Sorry….this picture is a little dark but it was dark and rainy here today, not a good day for photography.
What do you have in your yard that you could use for winter decor?
I think one of the best things about natural decor you can just throw it away after the holidays. Now… that’s what I’m talking about….simple and easy!
Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you and yours
have a great TGIF and weekend! See you soon!

I adore your pillow! I think you did a fabulous job, and I love it in this winter setting with the pine needles and cones. So pretty. You have no idea how much I appreciate being given a heads up and having the opportunity to check out your creation! Thank you so much!
I've been wondering what to add to my porch as the weather turns cold. You have definitely given me some ideas. I love the pillow! It looks perfect for this time of year!
I would love for you to join my link party at http://firstadream.blogspot.com/
i love the natural decor- beautiful and inspired!
I love using pinecones for Christmas decor. I painted some last year in gold. :)
Blessings,
Sandra
Love the idea of painting the tips of the pinecones. It looks like snow and since I never get any snow that's for me.
Love the pillow and I love redbirds in winter.

Your winter vignette looks great. Love the pillow, and something about spray painting that basket white totally sells the "winter look". Tks for the inspiration!
Looks cute. I decorate with natural materials as well.
very fresh winters vingette~
Your Christmas Cactus has a name! How cute! I love my Christmas cactus, I have it "vacation" outside on my porch all summer too. Mine is much smaller then yours because it was an off shoot from my Mom's, but it is blooming now as well! And thanks so much for following my blog :) I see lots of good things on yours as well, I'm your newest follower!
