~Blue Hydrangea Hideaway~

 

 

  If you like French Hydrangea’s there’s a great article in this month’s issue of Southern Living.  It explains  how to grow them, prune them and start new ones. 

We are at the Lake Cottage this weekend and we have three beautiful Hydrangea bushes.   They seem to be very common in this area.  I haven’t seen very many pink ones,  just the blue.  

After reading this article…my vision is to have them lining our property line somewhat like in the magazine.

This is one of our Hydrangea’s.   We cut it back last fall…maybe a little too much because the blooms aren’t quiet as large this year.

I started this plant from a branch that I cut off from the older one.  I wasn’t sure what would happen but…. viola!

They’re also nice for cutting arrangements and great for drying.

This little bluebird was watching me today while I was gardening.  Isn’t he or she cute?

The weather has been sunny and beautiful here…the lake is gorgeous this time of year!

Thanks to our veterans we can grow hydrangea’s….. admire the lake and do all the things we often take for granted.

I’m so grateful to each and everyone of our service men and vets!

    Hi Mary,

    What a happy place you have! I am experiencing severe hydrangea envy! They are just beautiful. I wish I could grow them here, but the heat is just too intense.
    Your little bluebird friend made me smile...we have a cardinal couple who live in our trees. They sing all morning and then proceed to slam themselves into our windows all day. They've been doing this same routine for years...you'd think they'd learn. Thanks so much for following my blog! I certainly enjoy yours. : ) Tina
