I’m winding up our road trip out West, I also realize it has been a long time coming, but since my last post I’ve cleaned our basement and had a huge yard sale. It feels good to get rid of some of our clutter, especially from the basement, so now I’m free to concentrate on fall!
The photo’s below were taken in Clear Lake, one of the largest natural freshwater lakes in California one of the oldest on the continent, and you can see the ancient volcano, Mount Kanata from a distance.
My daughter and her husband kayak across this lake weekly to enjoy dinner at a wonderful Mexican Restaurant. Doesn’t that sound like fun?
We visited beautiful wineries, Ferrari-Curano
The redwoods were remarkable!
It was difficult to take a photo and actually show just how tall and large these tree’s really were.We read, in a brochure, were a photographer from National Geographic actually camped out in the Redwoods for a year, before he found the best spot to photograph them.
We stopped by the Grand Canyon on the way home, as you can see it was so crowded. I did manage to make my way through the crowd, and take a photo of one of the rare Condors.
While driving through Arizona, we decided to stop at the Cadillac Ranch. It’s basically old Cadillac’s buried in the ground. Everyone brings a can of spray paint, and sprays on their own design.
We stopped in New Mexico and spent the night, but since the temperature’s were reaching 115 degree’s, everyday, so we decided to discontinue our sight seeing there and in Texas, and make our way back to the bluegrass state.
We had a wonderful and safe trip, but it’s great to be back home.
Thank’s everyone for stopping by today. I hope you are enjoying your weekend, see you soon!
