Charleston

Hello Everyone!  Sorry for the absence from my blog. I keep telling myself I need to write a blog post, but it hasn’t been my top priory lately, but I do think about it, and I really do appreciate my followers, plus I feel like most of you have seen my house and cottage so many times that you are probably like…..bored.

Anyway, I’m going to share a few photo’s of a road trip that my daughter and I decided to take…just on a whim and…since we didn’t want to leave Albert, our golden retriever,  we decided to pack his bag and bring him along with us.  This was his first long road trip and we wanted to see just how well he could travel.

My daughter found this adorable 1700’s carriage house that was actually in walking distance to the pier and almost everything….and to top it off we were allowed to bring Albert.

Upon arrival the refrigerator was stocked with the most delicious breakfast foods, plus a chilled bottle of wine…just like home!

We stayed in the carriage house that was once housed by the slaves… back in the day.

This little courtyard was perfect for relaxation after walking and touring the city all day.  .

Albert enjoyed every minute of this mini vacation due to the fact that we took him to the park several times a day.  We also ate at little cafe's that had outdoor seating and…they always brought him fresh cold ice water.

We also visited Polly Beach which is only 15 minutes away.  Albert was having so much fun running and playing on the beach until he had his first big drink of salt water.:-)

He also did a great job of pretending to watch our bags!  Of course he’s not very trust worthy… if a burglar decided to help themselves he would probably wag his tail and hold out his paw.

One morning we decided to walk to pier to see the sun rise over the bay, it was so beautiful!

There are so many beautiful and colorful cottages and old homes in Charleston..  I think they must all share the same gardener because their flower boxes and gardens are so well groomed and lovely.

At first I thought this wreath was made of paper roses ,however, after looking closely and touching it, I found out that they were indeed real.

The water in the park fountain was pink….I would presume it had something to do with breast cancer.

After exploring Charleston for a few days, we decided it was time to start making our way back home and since Asheville was only 5 hours away, we thought it might be fun to spend a few nights there.

I’ll try not to bore you with those today…I’ll wait a few days. :-)

Take care friends! I hope you are enjoying this beautiful fall day!  See you soon!

I am so jealous Aunt Mary! I wish I would've known you were so close, I would've come to charleston to see you! Albert looks like he had a ball, literally because he's carrying one and it looks like it was a gorgeous visit!

Thanks Mary for showing me some of your visit, lovely photos. I thought the old coach house was lovely and the furniture looked very British ! You could not have enjoyed that trip and Albert poised beautifully for the camera. I've missed you, glad you're back.

What a charming place to stay, Mary. That pink water fountain is so cool! And the sunset is just gorgeous. I'm glad that you got to get away with your daughter, and I can't help but smile every time I see Albert. He's sooooo cute.

Happy November!

Love,
~Sheri
