In 1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue….and he sailed it on Nina. The most historically accurate Columbus Replica ship ever built.
While were were visiting the lake cottage this week, Nina and Pinta sailed into Green Turtle Bay. We were so excited to see them!
We were trying to get a photo as they were arriving at the resort, but we had no idea what time they would arrive, so a little birdie told me to get in our boat, because they would be going back out the following day for press photos..
After taking a boat ride and looking everywhere…they suddenly they appeared…in all of their glory!
We were surprised to see several woman operating the sails and working on the ships! I have so many close ups of everyone and many more photo’s, but unfortunately, they are on my desktop at the cottage.
They also put up their sails for the press to take photo’s, however, the wind was too strong to leave them up for long.
It’s hard to believe so many people were on this ship, and to think…. they sailed the Atlantic!
We followed them everywhere….we were regular ship stalkers!
I figured they were probably used to it by now.
Nina is the exact replica.
I think the fisherman, as well as, the boaters were surprised! The fisherman would put down their fishing poles, the boaters would turn their boats around….and everyone that had cell phones would snap photo’s.

We were planning on going aboard, while they where docked at Green Turtle Bay, but that didn’t happen this visit…hopefully next time.
That’s all for today folks, thank you, and I hope you have a great week!
See you soon!
Hugs! MaryPin It now!
