Week 1.5: Rome & Florence

We had such a good time at the Lake Cottage this week!    It was hot!    The temperatures were in the high 90’s, but I still like summer much better than winter.  At least we’re getting summer showers, along with the heat, which always makes it more comfortable.  I must say, while we were in Rome last month, the weather was perfect.

I thought I would share a few pictures with you from our trip to Rome and Florence. We stayed at the beautiful, 4 Star, 1865  Hotel Quirinale.     The location was perfect, especially if you like to shop, and of course we liked to shop!   There were cafe's on every street, and we were within walking distance of Trevor fountain, the Spanish Steps and Coliseum.

We had breakfast in the garden each morning, while listening to the birds singing and the sound of trickling water from the fountain.

This is a replica of David, but we actually saw the real statue of David.    It was remarkable to actually see Michelangelo’s  masterpiece.

So many memories came flooding back. I still haven't posted my Rome pictures. I'll have a lull in tablescapes at some point and get them up. Did you mean panoramic view instead of Panasonic view...or maybe there's something I'm missing? Thanks for sharing the amazing pictures. Cherry Kay

Hello,
I visited your blog today. I love your Italy pictures! My daughter, Jess, went to Florence and Rome a couple of years ago. She had a fabulous time and brought me back some rosary beads from the Vatican in Rome. Me and my daughters just started a new blog, and we would love it if you could visit us and follow. I would enjoy coming back to visit with you and seeing all your gorgeous travel pictures. Hope to hear from you, and have a sweet day.

I so enjoyed your pictures of Rome and Florence. They are both such beautiful cities. It's been a few years since we visited and I keep telling Hubby that we must go back now that I have a better camera!

So happy you came by and I am happily following you!
